Sorry, at this time we are not accepting new orders.

The Alientech™ AlienWindow controller is an aftermarket product for newer VW cars that lets your VW remote transmitter also control your windows when desired. Roll windows up, down, or vent (open just a little) by pressing the unlock and lock buttons on your remote in new sequences. The AlienWindow controller is a time saver that makes it easy to completely secure your parked car in one simple procedure -- you can lock doors and roll up windows and sunroof as you are walking away. When approaching the car, the AlienWindow controller lets you unlock and roll down the windows - to let heat out before you even get to the car! The vent command can be used to keep your car cool while you are away.

We bought one of the first VW New Beetles, in 1998. One of the small annoyances was that if you forgot to roll up the windows before getting out, you had to get back in, put the key in the ignition, and then use the switches to roll them up. Or you could put the key in the door lock, and hold it in the lock position until the windows were up. Why couldn't the remote do this?

Thinking that it should, we tore into the New Beetle's wiring, and created a device which allows you to roll the windows up with the factory remote. Once the basics were working, we came up with some additional features for it to do.

The 1 1/2 inch square module is based on a high performance RISC microcontroller, yet draws very little power when idle, no more than other automotive accessories which draw constant power, such as clocks, radios, alarms, etc. The module has been designed to avoid interference with existing electronics - all inputs are high impedance and outputs are current limited to protect your car's electronics. Installation does not involve cutting any factory wires, and should any problems develop, the unit may be unplugged and full normal factory operation restored.

After having done this for our own New Beetle, we showed a few friends, and they all agreed that it was a useful addition, and told us we should build and sell these. So we designed a circuit board, got some parts together, found a few "beta" testers and put a few together. The feedback was great - others found it to work well and be very useful. We soon got it working across the VW line, and started production.

Since making that first controller in 1998, we've sold them to hundreds of happy customers. Installation is not difficult, and a few users have even documented their experience installing the AlienWindow controller in their cars. Passat: atomicalex. Jetta: Kyle C. Reported installation times average around one hour.

The AlienWindow controller works on the following VW Vehicles: all New Beetles, 1999.5 and later Jetta/Golf (A4 chassis), 1998 and later Passat (B5 chassis). Note: the "new" Jetta (A5 chassis, 2005.5+) is not yet supported as VW has not yet made servicing information available. If you live near SE Michigan and have an A5 Jetta, please contact us - we would like to take a look at your car.

A users have even reported successful installation in Skoda Octavia (See Dean's page.) and SEAT Leon. Instructions are included for all VW models.

In the US, we ship the AlienWindow controller via USPS Priority Mail, which usually whisks the controller to your doorstep in a couple of days. International orders are shipped via airmail (Letter Post). Be sure to include the address to which you want it shipped. The controller comes with a lifetime repair or replace warranty for manufacturer defects.
